Wyming Brook is a location that on the few occasions I have visited, never gets busy. In fact I said ‘hi’ to two other photographers in the car park, and then never saw them again for the duration of my visit.
With time on my side, I decided to venture all the way down the wooded gorge beyond the bridges where the path rises to higher ground and the cascades fall away below you, turn around, then make my way back up again. This is how I saw this composition, because i completely missed it on my way down.
Saying that, setting up for the shot was difficult. The camera was above water on the tripod and I had to compose the shot with one hand whilst holding onto a tree with the other to stop myself from leaning over too far and falling in. I managed it in the end though.
