What with the poor weather conditions on my last 3 outings where my camera didn’t even come out of my bag, I thought that my newly purchased tripod was a curse. With the extensive covering of snow from a few days earlier still thankfully hanging around when I woke on a December weekend morning, and because I was short on time, I stayed local and headed up to Magpie Mine near Sheldon.
I arrived with plenty of time to spare before sunrise which gave me the chance to shoot this image of the gorgeous dawn colours in the clouds. It was a beautiful morning, bright and crisp, and it was great to be able to capture my first Peak District snow in a photograph.
